USI Startup Centre
23 October 2026
On Tuesday, October 20, the seventh edition of the Incubation Kick-off Pitch took place at the East Campus, welcoming three new projects to the USI Startup Centre's incubation programme: Numyra, Snaption and UrbanMetrix. The event offered an opportunity to introduce their innovative solutions to the academic community and the local innovation ecosystem.
During the event, each startup presented what they are building in a 10-minute pitch, followed by a Q&A session with the audience. Snaption introduced its industrial data platform, which combines AI agents and traditional technologies to transform complex operational data into actionable recommendations. UrbanMetrix showcased its software for site analysis and conceptual design that helps architects and planners develop more sustainable buildings based on environmental factors such as sunlight, airflow, views and noise. Numyra presented its AI security platform, which helps companies identify the AI tools and agents in use, assess potential risks and prevent unauthorised data sharing and actions.
The Incubation Kick-off Pitch offers emerging science-driven startups an opportunity to connect with researchers, entrepreneurs, students and other players in the local innovation ecosystem. Beyond presenting their solutions, the event encourages dialogue and can be a starting point for potential collaborations.
Within the USI Startup Centre's incubation programme, each startup benefits from an in-kind voucher valued at CHF 60,000, covering two years of tailored support, including structured coaching, expert guidance, workshops and support with grant applications and fundraising. The programme aims to help promising science-driven projects develop their entrepreneurial potential and advance their startup journey.
