InVirtuoLabs, a techbio startup incubated at USI Startup Centre, has announced a partnership with Nagi Bioscience to integrate experimental data from living organisms into AI-driven drug discovery and improve the evaluation of potential drug candidates.

The partnership brings together InVirtuoLabs' proprietary AI-powered molecular design platform and Nagi Bioscience's SydLab™ One testing technology, which automates drug testing using microscopic organisms (C. elegans) to enable early assessment of the effects of compounds in living biological systems. By integrating experimental data on efficacy, toxicity and whole-organism response into the molecular design process, the two companies aim to help researchers identify the most promising molecules for further development, while reducing the risk of failure.

InVirtuoLabs has developed InVirtuoGEN, a foundation model for chemistry that is already powering its proprietary pipeline, with two assets currently in the lead optimization phase. The agreement with Nagi Bioscience, an EPFL spin-off that has been on the market since 2023 and is used by biopharma, nutrition and academic teams in Europe, North America and Asia, represents another step towards InVirtuoLabs’s goal of accelerating drug discovery.

The collaboration between these two Swiss companies also aims to contribute to advancing biomedical and pharmaceutical research and narrowing the gap between computational drug design and observed biological response.
