DEC Energy named among Top 3 Finance and Insurance startups
USI Startup Centre
1 july 2025
DEC Energy, the startup behind a platform that enables companies to rent fractions of solar power plants to generate renewable energy certificates and reduce energy costs, has been awarded third place in the 2025 edition of >>venture>>, Switzerland’s leading startup competition.
Launched in 1997, >>venture>> has supported innovative business ideas for over 25 years. This year, 18 finalists, three from each of the six verticals (Health & Nutrition, Finance & Insurance, ICT, Industrial & Engineering, Retail & Consumer Services, and Social & Environmental Impact), were selected from a pool of 396 applicants. Each of these teams convinced the jurors and the >>venture>> Advisory Board with their groundbreaking solutions.
Placing third in the “Finance & Insurance” vertical marks another significant milestone for the startup, founded by two USI students, Nicola Scarinzi and Manuel Bonù, and currently incubated at the USI Startup Centre. On a mission to simplify green energy procurement for corporates, the DEC team launched the platform earlier this year and onboarded the first corporate client. They are now seeking additional funding to support further growth, accelerate market penetration, and advance their technology.
